DeAndre Jordan posterizes LeBron James with a Blake Griffin lob
- Updated: December 2, 2016
Lob City is still alive and well, especially after having LeBron James pay a quick visit on Thursday night.
With just over 3 minutes before the end of the first half, Griffin was able to continue his dynamite passing when Channing Frye left Jordan to help with a double-team. Griffin wouldn’t miss his opportunity for another assist, throwing a lob to Jordan right above the rim. James tried to rotate in time and deliver a block, instead he fouled Jordan while becoming the newest member of a Lob City poster.
Jordan couldn’t capitalize on the free throw for a 3-point play, but the Clippers were able to build a 4-point lead that they wouldn’t give up for the remainder of the game. The Clippers definitely had momentum on their side after Jordan’s slam over James. They would finish the half on a 14-10 run, and were able to translate their energy to the 3rd quarter to ultimately enter the final frame with a 20-point lead.
Griffin finished the night with a game-high 11 assists to go along with his 13 points, while Jordan put up 9 points and 15 rebounds. It was a great win for the Clippers, especially against a motivated Cavaliers squad that was playing at home after losing their previous game to the Milwaukee Bucks.
The win should make the Clippers feel confident, who at the moment sit in 3rd in the Western Conference with a 15-5 record. They’ll get a chance to continue improving and using their chemistry when they take on the New Orleans Pelicans tonight at 8:00 p.m. EST.
